Widget is a side scrolling action game where the player controls a purple alien protagonist. This character must defend Earth from an invading alien force, engaging in jumping and shooting throughout the adventure.

These transformations, which include options like a dolphin, a rock man, and a cannon, consume a magic resource that requires management. The character receives guidance from an ally named Mega Brain through a wristwatch communication device.
