A one-on-one street brawl where punches knock your rival toward an open manhole.

Urban Champion was released for the Nintendo Famicom (NES) in Japan on November 14, 1984. This is the earliest commercial release of the game on the NES platform, and it is also the original release year of the game on any platform.

About Urban Champion

Urban Champion is a fighting game set on a city street. Two opponents begin in the center of the screen, with an open manhole at each end of the fighting area. The objective is to punch the other character until they fall into one of these openings.

Gameplay is simple, with punching as the sole direct attack. The environment can intervene, as items like flower pots may fall from above, potentially altering the match. The setting includes a detail where characters pause their conflict to appear nonchalant if a police car passes by.
