A horizontal shooter where you pilot a WWI plane, bomb targets, and perform loops to evade enemy fire.

Sky Kid was originally released in arcades by Namco in 1985. The NES version was released in North America in 1987 by Sun Corporation of America. The legacy year 1985 refers to the arcade release, not the NES version.

About Sky Kid

Sky Kid is a side-scrolling flight game set in a World War I environment. Players control a plane, referred to as the Red Baron, navigating horizontally across the screen.

The primary objective is to reach a designated landing strip on the opposite side of the level. Failing to land results in a crash from fuel depletion. Additional points can be earned by targeting enemy aircraft and ground vehicles during the journey.

Combat involves firing shots horizontally or at diagonal angles by adjusting the plane's pitch. A special maneuver, an aerial loop, can be executed to evade enemy fire and sometimes destroy pursuing planes. For a significant score bonus, a hidden bomb can be located within a level, often signaled by an audio cue, and must be dropped on a large target structure.

The game includes a cooperative mode featuring a second pilot named Max.
