About Rockin' Kats

Rockin' Kats is a side scrolling action game for the NES. The player controls Willy, a character known as The Rockin' Kat, whose objective is to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend Jill from a crime boss named Mugsy.

The game's structure is organized around a television set, with each of the seven stages representing a different channel. These channels correspond to various themed shows, including westerns and gangster movies, alongside some bonus content. This provides a framework for the level selection.

Willy's primary tool is a spring loaded Super Punch Gun, which has multiple functions beyond attacking enemies. It can be used to propel him for higher jumps, to execute spin maneuvers from ledges, and to grab and throw objects. The weapon can also be upgraded with purchasable attachments like the Bomber or Jet Sneakers to enhance its capabilities.

With its premise of a cartoon cat navigating TV shows, the game's overall presentation is notably cartoonish in style.
