Puzzle

Review

Slide scrambled picture pieces into open spaces to reassemble the image across multiple levels.

Puzzle for NES was developed and published by American Video Entertainment in 1990; it is an original NES game, not a port, so the original release year is also 1990.

About Puzzle

Puzzle is a picture reassembly game where scrambled fragments must be slid into open spaces to restore the original image. The game provides limited assistance: the completed picture can be viewed up to five times per puzzle by pausing, and a player who is stuck can gamble with the computer in a chance-based mini game.

Success in this mini game, which costs sixty seconds from the timer, grants the ability to swap any two pieces on the board. With eight standard levels and two additional expert levels, the structure is challenging and offers progressive difficulty.
