About Mr. Gimmick

Mr. Gimmick is a platform game where the player controls a living doll on a rescue mission. The story begins when the doll's owner, a girl, is kidnapped by jealous toys and taken to a mystical land.

Gameplay involves navigating six levels using a unique projectile system. The primary defense is a bouncing star, which requires a moment to materialize before being launched in a downward arc. This star can also be used as a temporary platform to reach higher areas. An inventory system allows for the carrying of additional items like bombs, potions, and fireballs.

Progression offers two distinct paths, making the overall experience challenging for completionists. Simply finishing all six levels yields one conclusion. A more demanding route requires locating a hidden treasure in every stage, which unlocks a final extra level and a different ending. However, if the player loses all lives and continues, all collected treasures are forfeited, permanently blocking access to this secret stage.
