Millipede

Review
Also known as
Centipede Deluxe

Control a bug zapper to destroy a multi-segmented creature and other insects across progressively challenging levels.

Millipede was originally released in arcades in 1982. The NES version was released in North America in 1988 by HAL Laboratory.

About Millipede

Millipede is a sequel to Centipede, sharing its core mechanics but introducing a new array of garden pests. The player operates a bug zapper, firing arrows to eliminate insects that threaten the environment.

Primary targets include the multi-segmented millipede, which moves through a mushroom field toward the screen's bottom. Destroying all its segments allows progression to a challenging subsequent stage. Various other creatures, such as spiders, bees, dragonflies, and earwigs, also appear and are worth differing point values.

Strategic opportunities arise with the occasional appearance of DDT. When shot, it explodes, potentially destroying multiple millipede segments and other insects caught in the blast for a tactical advantage.
