About Mario is Missing!

Mario is Missing is an educational title for the NES where players control Luigi. The objective involves traveling to various global locations to recover stolen cultural artifacts, which serves to teach geographical facts.

Bowser has established a base in Antarctica and opened portals to numerous world cities. His Koopa troops have taken famous items from these locations, and they have also captured Mario. Luigi must identify his current city, find the Koopas, and return the artifacts. Successfully returning an item allows Luigi to photograph the landmark.

Progression requires using a device called a Globulator to contact Yoshi. Yoshi's assistance is necessary to defeat the guardian of each portal, a creature called a Pokey, so Luigi can seal it. The base game features twenty-five cities, with an optional disk adding ten more.
