About Gumshoe

Gumshoe is a game where the player assists Mr. Stevenson, who is automatically walking to the right. The primary control method is a light gun, used to interact with the environment and the character directly.

The objective is a rescue mission, with the player guiding Mr. Stevenson to save his kidnapped daughter, Jennifer. To achieve this, five diamonds must be gathered across the various levels before the final stage can be completed.

Gameplay involves clearing a path for the continuously moving protagonist. The light gun can destroy certain obstacles, while others must be avoided by making Mr. jump, which is also triggered by shooting him. This creates a challenging dynamic of managing threats and movement. Ammunition for the gun is limited but can be replenished by popping balloons found in the levels.
