Arcade Archives GALAGA Arcade Game Series: Galaga Galaga: Demons of Death Galax Sega-Galaga ギャラガ

Control a space fighter to shoot waves of alien invaders, avoid their attacks, and rescue captured ships for double firepower.

Galaga was originally released in arcades in 1981. The NES version was released in Japan in 1988 as part of Namco's Famicom port, and the legacy year 1981 refers to the arcade original, not the NES platform version.

About Galaga

Galaga - Demons of Death is a vertical shooter where the player operates a spacecraft. This ship moves horizontally along the screen's base to engage enemy formations and evade their assaults.

Performance is tracked through a final score and a statistical breakdown shown upon game over. This summary includes a hit ratio, detailing the quantity of shots fired and enemies eliminated.

Alien forces employ various tactics, including dive bomb attacks and the use of tractor beams. If a beam captures the player's fighter, it can be rescued by destroying the captor, resulting in a dual ship formation with combined firepower.

The structure consists of an endless sequence of stages, with a challenging pattern recurring every third level. These designated challenge stages offer a risk free opportunity to destroy targets for bonus points.
