About Captain America and the Avengers

Captain America and the Avengers is a side-scrolling beat 'em up for the NES featuring four playable heroes from Marvel Comics. The primary action involves brawling through stages, though the gameplay shifts to side-scrolling shooting segments in specific environments.

Players can control Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, or Vision, either alone or with others simultaneously. Their objective is to stop the Red Skull's plot for world domination, which he pursues by recruiting a team of super-villains. These adversaries include figures like the Mandarin, Ultron, Juggernaut, and Crossbones, culminating in a confrontation with the Red Skull himself.

The adventure spans five distinct stages. While most focus on hand-to-hand combat, others transition the heroes into vehicular or aerial combat scenarios, taking the fight underwater and into space. Support characters like Quicksilver and the Wasp appear intermittently to provide aid, such as energy replenishment or enhanced firepower during the shooting sections.
