About Battle City

Battle City is a home console adaptation of an earlier arcade tank combat title. Players control an armored vehicle tasked with defending a base from opposing tanks across a series of distinct stages.

Progression occurs after eliminating a set number of enemy units, unlocking a new stage with a unique layout. The environment contains various terrain types that affect strategy, including destructible walls, fortified barriers, and surfaces that impede movement.

The player's tank begins in a standard state but can be upgraded through collected power-ups. Once the included stages are completed, a separate construction mode becomes available for designing custom levels.
