About World Cup 98

World Cup 98 for the Game Boy is an adaptation of the international football tournament held in France. Its presentation utilizes a 2D isometric perspective, a technical approach shared with the handheld version of FIFA 98: Road to World Cup, from which it also borrows its core engine and many visual assets.

While officially licensed for the 1998 World Cup event, this particular port does not include the real names of players. This distinguishes it from the contemporary PC and console releases bearing the same title, which featured 3D graphics and full licensing.
