World Circuit Series

Review
Also known as
F-1 Spirit The Spirit of F-1 エフワン スピリット

Race three classes of open-wheel cars across 25 global tracks in practice, single race, or championship modes.

World Circuit Series is the Game Boy version of Konami's F-1 Spirit, originally released in arcades in 1987. The Game Boy version was released in 1991.

About World Circuit Series

F-1 Spirit adapts Konami's top-down racing series to a portable format. The game includes twenty five global circuits, with certain tracks accessible only during championship events. Players progress through tiers from Japanese Formula 3 to the World F1 Grand Prix.

Three vehicle classes effectively serve as difficulty settings. As players advance, circuits lengthen to necessitate pit stops and corners become more complex, shifting the gameplay from fair to challenging. Steering is handled with the directional pad, while separate buttons control acceleration and gear selection between high and low settings.

Available modes are practice, single race, and a full championship. The core experience involves managing speed and trajectory across increasingly demanding tracks as car performance improves with each class.
