About Ultima : Runes of Virtue

Ultima: Runes of Virtue is an action role playing game developed for the Game Boy, set within the established Ultima fictional world. The central objective involves retrieving eight rune stones, each representing a virtue, from a corresponding number of dungeons.

Players begin by selecting one of four distinct characters: Shamino the ranger, Dupre the swordsman, Iolo the bard, or Mariah the mage. The game offers three selectable difficulty levels, providing a fair range of challenge. Several characters from other Ultima titles appear, such as Sherry, Dr. Cat, and Chuckles.

The narrative premise explains that the Black Knight has taken the virtues from Lord British's castle, creating the need for their recovery. This quest to gather the stones from dungeons that oppose the virtues forms the core gameplay structure.
