Mickey's Ultimate Challenge

Review

Solve puzzles to help Disney characters and stop earthquakes in the Kingdom of Beanwick.

Mickey's Ultimate Challenge was released for the Game Boy in 1994, the same year as the original SNES version, making 1994 the earliest commercial release year for both the Game Boy version and the original game.

About Mickey's Ultimate Challenge

Mickey's Ultimate Challenge is a puzzle game where the player selects either Mickey or Minnie as the protagonist. The narrative begins with the character falling asleep while reading fairy tales and awakening in the earthquake plagued Kingdom of Beanwick, where they offer to investigate the cause.

Gameplay involves encountering five Disney characters, each of whom presents a distinct puzzle task. Completing a task, such as a memory matching game to clean paintings, rewards the player with a specific gift item. The overall structure is fair, requiring the player to finish all individual character puzzles before progressing.

The final phase involves trading the collected gifts between the characters correctly. Successfully matching each item to the appropriate recipient grants access to the concluding puzzle and character, which resolves the central mystery.
