Review
Also known as
Castelian Kyorochan Land Nebulus キョロちゃんランド

Destroy eight towers by climbing their rotating exteriors, avoiding enemies and jumping on moving ledges.

Nebulus (Kyorochan Land) was originally released in 1987 for home computers; the Game Boy version was released in 1990.

About Kyorochan Land

Kyorochan Land is a Game Boy title where the player controls a small green character on a mission to destroy eight towers. These structures are identified as a threat to the water supply of potential colony planets.

Movement through the game involves navigating the exterior of these towers to reach their summits. The player must avoid or dispatch enemies while ascending, with key vertical progress often dependent on timing jumps onto moving platforms. A notable technical feature for its era was the presentation, which created a pseudo-3D effect by keeping the character centered while the tower background rotated around them.

Travel between the primary tower stages is handled via a submarine sequence. This segment shifts to a side-scrolling perspective where collecting items yields bonus points.
