About Kid Icarus

Kid Icarus is a platform game set in Angel Land, where the player controls the angel Pit. His objective is to defeat the monster Medusa, who has kidnapped Princess Palutena and threatens the land. This journey progresses through vertically oriented levels, moving from caverns to a sky palace.

Gameplay involves ascending these levels while shooting enemies with a bow that can fire forward or upward. Falling off the bottom of the screen results in death, making the navigation challenging. Defeated enemies leave behind hearts, which serve as currency for in-game shops.

Scattered throughout the levels are doors leading to various chambers. These rooms can contain enemies, shops, health replenishment, or tests for powerful weapons. Some chambers offer permanent strength upgrades, increasing attack damage. Pit also gains experience and levels from defeating foes, which raises his maximum health.

Items purchased with hearts include a protective shield, a more powerful bow, a mallet to free petrified allies, and a torch for dark areas. These tools assist Pit in his quest against the many monsters obstructing his path to Medusa.
