About Hunt for Red October

Hunt for Red October is set in 1984, with the player assuming control of the Soviet Typhoon-Class submarine Red October. Captain Marko Ramius commands the vessel on a mission to the United States, aiming to prevent its use in initiating a conflict.

Gameplay involves piloting the submarine through underwater environments. A radar system displays the surrounding area and nearby units. Players must avoid collisions with environmental surfaces while engaging naval and airborne threats using available armaments such as torpedoes and guided warheads. A temporary stealth capability is provided by the Caterpillar Drive.
