About Go! Go! Tank

Go! Go! Tank is a mission-based action game where the player controls a plane to protect an autonomous ground vehicle. The setting involves repelling an invasion to secure a path for allied forces.

Primary gameplay involves aerial support for a tank that moves independently. This tank can surmount low obstacles but will collide with and reverse direction at taller barriers, sustaining damage from such impacts. The player's plane uses a hook to manipulate boxes in the environment to clear the tank's route while also engaging enemy aircraft and ground installations with its weapons.

Player survival is tied to two resources: the health of the tank and a stock of planes. The tank can be destroyed by accumulating too much damage, while the plane is lost if it is hit. Depleting either resource results in a game over. The challenge stems from managing both units simultaneously under enemy fire.

Several power-ups alter gameplay temporarily. These include a more capable hook for lifting the tank directly, a screen-clearing explosive, and a duplicate plane that mirrors the player's actions. The complete journey consists of ten distinct stages. A linked Game Boy system enables a cooperative two-player mode where both participants control separate planes.
