About Flappy Special

Flappy Special is a Game Boy adaptation of the puzzle game Flappy. The player directs a mole whose objective is to maneuver a blue stone onto a designated target square. This stone can be pushed but not pulled, and both it and red stones are subject to gravity, falling if pushed from a ledge.

The game contains a total of 160 levels, divided into two distinct modes of 80 levels each. One mode focuses on puzzle solving, while the other introduces a greater number of enemies. The level designs are composites drawn from the PC-88 and NES iterations of the game.

Gameplay involves using falling stones to clear obstacles or to defeat enemies that will harm Flappy on contact. Colliding with an enemy or being hit by a falling stone results in losing a life. The core challenge involves strategically using gravity and the environment to create a safe path for the blue stone.
