About Felix the Cat

Felix the Cat for the Game Boy is a platforming game starring the cartoon character. The story involves Felix attempting to rescue his girlfriend Kitty from the Professor, who seeks to obtain Felix's magic bag.

Gameplay occurs across several distinct stage types. These include standard platforming environments, swimming sections where Felix uses a float or dolphin, underwater areas, and flying sequences with various aircraft. The objective is to navigate to the exit while confronting enemies.

A central system involves weapon upgrades, which vary by level type. Collecting cat symbols throughout the stages can cause milk bottles or hearts to appear. Hearts enhance the current weapon, while milk refills an energy bar for any weapon superior to the standard one. This energy depletes over time. Taking damage from an enemy downgrades the equipped weapon, and a hit while using the basic weapon results in a life loss. The arsenal is diverse, including items like a boxing glove, tanks, and spaceships.

The Game Boy release functions nearly the same as the NES original, though it contains a reduced number of levels.
