Battletoads in Ragnarok's World

Battletoads in Ragnarok's World is a game where the player assumes the role of a Battletoad. The premise involves the Dark Queen, who has captured both a fellow toad and a woman, prompting a rescue mission.

Gameplay consists of progressing through a series of distinct stages. These include side-scrolling combat sequences, vertical descents where fighting occurs during the fall, and sections involving vehicles like a rocket or surfboard for shooting or evasion. Each stage concludes with a boss encounter, and some feature a mid-level mini-boss as well.

The Game Boy version contains fewer levels than other releases, offering thirteen in total where other ports included more. The tone of the narrative frames the Battletoad character as one who responds to threats with aggressive retaliation rather than retreat.
