About Space Marauder

Space Marauder is a scrolling shooter for the Game Boy Color, originally released as Burai Fighter. The player assumes the role of a fighter opposing the Burai, an alien race using hybrid organic-robot creatures called robo-mutants in their conquest.

Gameplay primarily involves navigating through side-scrolling and vertical-scrolling stages with fixed designs. A distinct variation occurs in certain levels, which shift to a top-down view and feature randomly generated layouts. The player's arsenal includes multiple gun types, such as laser, missile, and ring weapons, alongside a screen-clearing cobalt bomb.

The title offers three selectable difficulty levels, presenting a challenging progression. While the core mechanics are identical to the original Burai Fighter, the level designs are unique to this version. A competitive versus mode present in the earlier release is not included here.
