About NASCAR 2000

NASCAR 2000 is a Game Boy Color adaptation of its larger counterparts, presenting a 2D racing experience based on the 2000 season. It features a roster of 33 drivers and 16 tracks, with gameplay centered around single events or a full 16-race championship. Player progress in the season mode is retained using battery save functionality.

Prior to an event, drivers can modify their vehicle's setup, adjusting elements like fuel load, tire pressure, and suspension. The in race view is a third person perspective, with a display showing vital information such as speed, gear, and vehicle condition. The season mode uniquely allows a choice between automatic and manual transmission.

Customization extends to the rules of play. Options include setting the number of opponents, race distance as a percentage of a real event, and the level of mechanical damage. A link cable enables two player competition, while other configurable settings affect the overall challenging nature of the races.
