About Lufia: The Legend Returns

Lufia: The Legend Returns introduces a party management system centered on a three by three grid. Each of the nine character positions influences physical damage dealt and received, with the front row being most vulnerable and potent. During a turn, only one character from each vertical column can act.

Character abilities are defined by colored attributes for magic, defense, speed, or power. These attributes are shared among all characters aligned in the same row or column, creating an interconnected system for special attacks and magic.

Dungeon exploration features visible monsters that move in sync with the player and can be stunned. While reminiscent of its predecessor in this aspect, the layout of every dungeon is randomly generated, which can sometimes be a challenging element. The narrative involves the return of the Sinistrals, and a returning optional area, the Ancient Dungeon, now contains two hundred floors culminating in a difficult final boss.
