About Checkmate

Checkmate for the Game Boy Color is a portable chess title. It provides a challenging experience through two primary modes: a Tournament Mode for structured progression and an Open Competition where players face 16 difficult opponents, including a super computer.

Players can test their strategy against AI of varying skill levels. The software includes tools for learning and game management, such as a teaching mode, move hints, and a chess clock. Functionality for saving games, reviewing past moves, and customizing the appearance of the pieces is also present.
