SpongeBob SquarePants : SuperSponge

SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge is a side-scrolling platformer where the player guides SpongeBob through a series of errands. The narrative motivation involves obtaining an autograph from superheroes Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy as a birthday gift for Patrick, which requires completing various tasks for them first.

Levels are organized into five distinct worlds, each containing four stages. The primary objective in any given stage is to secure a specific item needed for the current assignment. Navigation through these environments presents aquatic adversaries that can be dealt with using a basic slap attack or with collected weaponry such as a jelly gun, coral blower, or fishing net.

Player progression is supported by several auxiliary systems. SpongeBob's health is represented by a beating heart, which can be replenished by collecting fast food items like burgers and fries. Gathering fifty spatulas grants an extra life, as can finding a pair of underpants. A balloon item provides the ability to glide, offering an alternative movement option. One notable stage set inside Sandy Cheeks' tree dome introduces an environmental hazard where SpongeBob must periodically visit a water puddle to avoid drying out.

Each world concludes with a boss encounter, providing a climactic challenge to the area. The overall structure and story mirror the game's PlayStation version, though specific level layouts and gameplay mechanics are unique to this handheld iteration.
