About Planet of the Apes

Planet of the Apes for the Game Boy Advance is a side-scrolling action title where players navigate a character through environments filled with hazards and hostile forces. The protagonist, an astronaut named Ulysses, finds himself on a future Earth ruled by apes who have subjugated humanity.

Progress is managed through a password system, allowing the game to be played in separate sessions across its thirteen stages. The narrative, inspired by the 1960s film series, unfolds through still images that replicate the movies' aesthetic.

Gameplay involves maneuvering past traps and platforms while confronting armed ape adversaries. Ulysses begins his journey equipped with a knife, later acquiring more powerful firearms like a pistol and a shotgun for defense.

The central objective involves Ulysses allying with human survivors to infiltrate the Ape Empire and thwart General Ursus's planned final assault on mankind.
