About Donald Duck Advance
Donald Duck Advance is a Game Boy Advance adaptation of a title released elsewhere as a 3D platformer, but here it takes the form of a 2D side-scroller. The plot involves Donald Duck's quest to rescue Daisy from Merlock, utilizing a teleporter invented by Gyro Gearloose to traverse four distinct worlds.
Gameplay revolves around navigating levels filled with enemies and environmental hazards. Donald possesses a basic attack, can jump on foes, and has access to a double jump and a running move for covering longer distances. The primary objective in most stages is to gather three energy spheres to unlock the exit.
Each of the four environments contains a special level that deviates from this pattern, tasking Donald with either fleeing from a pursuer or chasing a target. Throughout the adventure, players collect stars, with accumulating 100 granting an extra life and finding every star unlocking a secret. Progress is saved using a password system, and levels feature checkpoint markers to mitigate the challenging elements of the platforming.
