About Boktai : The Sun Is in Your Hand

Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand is an isometric platformer where the player controls Django, a vampire hunter who wields solar energy against immortal evils. The central mechanic involves a physical sunlight sensor built into the cartridge, which directly influences gameplay by measuring ambient light.

This measured sunlight serves as ammunition for Django's weapon and dictates the in-game time of day. Players must manage this resource, as operating in darkness or exhausting the solar charge puts them at a challenging disadvantage. Replenishment occurs by positioning Django in actual sunlight or under indoor light from windows, while collectible batteries allow for energy storage to enable play after dark.

Progress is achieved by exploring levels to confront and defeat the ruling immortal entity in each area. The game's systems are fundamentally tied to environmental light conditions, making the player's physical surroundings a key component of the experience.
