About Venus Fruit Trap

Venus Fruit Trap was one of those simple, quick games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't have a complicated story or fancy graphics, just a clear task that pulled you in for a few minutes at a time. I remember playing it on sites that hosted dozens of similar games, a small part of that vast, now mostly vanished, online playground.

You control a carnivorous plant at the bottom of the screen. Fruits and other objects are tossed into the air from above, and you move the plant left and right to catch them. The main goal is to eat the falling fruits to gain points, but you have to avoid the garden tools, like rakes or shears. Hitting a tool drains your power. The pacing is steady, with the items falling at a consistent rate that gives you just enough time to react. It feels like a straightforward test of timing and positioning, where a single mistake has a clear consequence. The game creates a focused, almost rhythmic loop of catching and dodging.
