You control a single car in a straight-line race against one opponent. The moment the light turns green, you hit the accelerator and watch your speed climb. Managing your gears is central to the gameplay; you shift up as your RPMs peak to avoid bouncing off the rev limiter, and you shift down if you need to correct a mistake. The main objective is to win each race to earn money, which you then use to upgrade your engine, tires, and other parts for the next challenge. The races are very short, often decided in a few seconds, but the need for precise timing makes them tense. The game feels like a rapid cycle of earning, upgrading, and testing your reflexes against increasingly quicker cars.
