About Turret Defense
Turret Defense was one of those games you'd find in the late 2000s, a time when Flash games were a regular part of browsing the web. It didn't have a big studio name attached to it, but it was a straightforward example of the tower defense genre that many people played during that era. The goal was simple, and it fit right in with other games you'd open in a browser tab.
You control the placement of your defenses. With the mouse, you select different turret types from a menu and position them along the winding path the enemies follow. Your moment-to-moment focus is on managing your limited cash, earned from defeating units, to buy and upgrade your towers before the next wave arrives. The main objective is to stop every enemy from reaching the end of the path. Recognizable mechanics include upgrading a turret to increase its power and selling a poorly placed one for a partial refund. The pacing starts slow, letting you learn the map, but the difficulty ramps up steadily as faster and tougher enemies appear in later waves. It feels like a constant, quiet calculation of risk and resource management.
