About Three-point Shootout

Three-point Shootout was one of those simple Flash games you'd find in the mid-2000s, a time when a browser could become an arcade. It didn't try to be a full basketball simulation. Instead, it focused on the specific tension of the three-point contest, a format familiar from NBA All-Star weekends. You were there to shoot, nothing else.

You control a lone shooter at the top of the key. Each round, you work through a series of five racks of balls, each with a money ball worth extra points. The core action is a quick, rhythmic press of the spacebar. You press once to start the shot meter, and again to release the ball, trying to stop the needle in the small green zone for a perfect release. The objective is straightforward: score more points than the computer opponent or beat your own high score. The mechanics are all about that timing; a slight miss means a clank off the rim, and the racks disappear quickly, forcing a steady pace. The difficulty comes from maintaining that rhythm under pressure as the rounds progress. It feels like a test of pure, repetitive focus, where a single mistimed click breaks your flow and costs you the win.
