About Super Smash Flash

Super Smash Flash was one of those games you found in the middle of the Flash era, when a browser could be a portal to a quick fight. It arrived in 2006, made by a small team of fans. The game was a simple, direct take on a popular series, built for the web and for anyone with a keyboard and a friend nearby.

You pick a character, like Mario or Sonic, and then you're thrown onto a small platform. The goal is to knock your opponent off the screen. You run, you jump, and you hit the attack button to swing or shoot. There's a percentage that goes up as you take damage, making you easier to launch. The pacing is fast and a little chaotic, with the controls feeling stiff but responsive once you get used to them. It feels like a rough sketch of a bigger idea, but in the moment, with someone next to you, it works.
