About Sumo
Sumo was one of those simple, clever games that made the Flash era so memorable. It appeared online when browser games were often quick distractions, built on a single amusing idea. The game didn't need complex lore or detailed graphics; its premise was immediately clear and its execution straightforward.
You control a cartoon sumo wrestler standing on a small, circular platform. Your goal is to push the opponent off the edge. You don't punch or grapple. Instead, you move left and right to position yourself, then press a key to make your character extend a hand and tickle the other wrestler. Each successful tickle makes them stumble backward a step. The challenge comes from managing your own footing while trying to corner them. The opponents become more aggressive in later rounds, forcing you to time your movements carefully. It creates a tense, silly back-and-forth where one mistimed lunge can send you tumbling off instead. The game feels like a precarious and playful shoving match.
