About Starshine
Starshine was one of those quiet, clever games from the Flash era. It didn't have elaborate graphics or a story. It was just a puzzle, presented on a screen you could load in a browser during a break. You would find it on a site hosting many small games, play it for a few minutes, and then maybe come back to it later when you wanted to think.
You control a single, small star on a field of other unlit stars. Your only action is to click to launch it in a straight line. It bounces off the edges of the play area. The goal is to have your star touch, or "ignite", every other star on the screen in a single continuous journey. You plan the angle of your initial shot, watching the predicted trajectory line, and then hope your star doesn't get stuck bouncing between two empty walls. The puzzles start simply but quickly demand precise planning. The game feels quiet and focused, a test of geometry and patience where a single miscalculation sends you back to the start.
