About Sonic Xtreme

Sonic Xtreme was one of the many Flash games you'd find online in the early 2000s. It was a simple, browser based take on the character, made by fans for fans, without the backing of an official studio. You loaded it up hoping for a quick taste of speed, a small fix before moving on with your day.

You control Sonic, running automatically from left to right. Your job is to keep him alive as long as possible. You press the arrow keys to move him left or right, avoiding pits and enemies, and hit the spacebar to jump over obstacles. The main objective is straightforward: collect rings and survive. The screen scrolls relentlessly, and the pace picks up the longer you last, making simple jumps feel tense. It's a game of quick reactions and memorization, where one mistimed move sends you back to the start. The experience feels frantic and immediate, a pure test of your timing against an ever accelerating track.
