About Shift Heads
Shift Heads was one of those games you'd find buried in the Flash portals of the late 2000s. It had that specific look and feel, a product of its time when simple, direct concepts were common. You played as a character working for a criminal organization, tasked with a grimly straightforward job.
You control a figure in a small, static room. Your tool is the mouse, used to click and drag the heads of your targets. The main objective is to complete each shift by efficiently removing a set number of heads before time runs out. The mechanics are physical and deliberate; you must position the head correctly over a disposal bin and release it. Sometimes a target might struggle, requiring a firmer or quicker drag. The pacing starts methodical but can grow tense as the timer counts down and the required quota increases. It feels like a morbid, repetitive task, creating a peculiar mix of focus and dark humor through its simple interaction.
