About Rock Band Rampage
Rock Band Rampage was one of those simple, chaotic games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick distraction, the kind you'd play between classes or during a slow afternoon. You controlled a musician, a guitarist I think, who seemed to have decided that the best response to a bad gig was to destroy the entire city.
You moved with the arrow keys, running through streets and jumping onto rooftops. The spacebar was your main action, letting you swing your guitar to smash windows, streetlights, and anything else that looked breakable. The main goal was straightforward: cause as much destruction as possible before a police officer, who patrolled on a regular loop, spotted you. If he saw you, it was over. This created a tense rhythm of frantic smashing followed by quick hiding behind buildings or in alleys. The game moved fast, and the difficulty came from managing your vandalism while keeping one eye on the cop's predictable but relentless path. It felt like a silly, cathartic release of pent-up energy, a brief escape into controlled chaos.
