About Rats & Spears
You control a character, likely a knight or a soldier, standing at the edge of a castle wall or a moat. Your goal is straightforward: stop the rats from climbing up to you by throwing spears down at them. You aim with your mouse, clicking to launch a javelin at the scurrying horde. The mechanics are basic but require timing. You have to lead your shots as the rats move, and you often manage a limited number of spears, creating a tension between careful aim and frantic defense. The pacing starts slow but builds steadily as more rats appear from the damp below. It can get quite difficult, with the screen eventually filling with relentless creatures. The game feels like a tense, repetitive stand against an endless, squeaking tide.
