About Quadrato
Quadrato was one of those simple, absorbing games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't have elaborate graphics or a story. It was just you, a cursor, and a grid of white squares. That was the appeal. You loaded it in a browser tab, and for a few minutes, everything else faded away.
You control a small cursor, moving it around a field of static white squares. Your goal is to survive by creating and collecting red squares. To make one, you trace a quick circle around a white square with your mouse. If you draw the shape correctly, the square turns red. You then run your cursor over it to collect it, which adds to your score and resets the grid slightly. The challenge comes from the pacing. New white squares appear constantly, and if they fill the screen, it's over. The game starts calmly, but the speed increases, demanding faster and more precise circling motions. It feels like a race against a quiet, inevitable tide.
