About Mutt Maker

Mutt Maker was one of those Flash games you'd find on a casual site in the mid-2000s. It didn't have a complicated story or high stakes. You just made dogs. The developer was clearly having fun with the concept, and that playful spirit came through in every goofy creation.

You control a cursor, clicking and dragging different body parts from a menu onto a blank canvas. You start with a head, maybe something like a poodle's curly mop, then attach a basset hound's long torso and finish with the stumpy legs of a corgi. The objective is simply to assemble a complete, often absurd, canine and print a certificate for your new breed. After the body is built, you can add accessories like hats or collars. The pacing is relaxed, with no timer or penalty for experimenting. The challenge, if you can call it that, lies in combining parts that clash in a way that's funny rather than frightening. It feels like doodling with a purpose, a quiet and silly way to spend a few minutes making something uniquely ugly.
