About Mobs Down
Mobs Down was one of those straightforward fighting games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick, browser-based brawler, and that was its appeal. You played as Michael Thorpe, a character out for revenge against the mob following his brother's death. The setup was simple, the kind of premise that got you right into the action without much fuss.
You control Michael from a side view, moving him left and right with the arrow keys. The spacebar makes him jump, while the C and X keys handle punching and kicking. The V key lets you pick up objects, sometimes weapons, from the environment to use against the waves of suited gangsters that come at you. Your main goal is to clear each area of these enemies, fighting through them to progress. The pacing is brisk; enemies appear consistently, keeping you on the move. It could get difficult as more opponents filled the screen, demanding quick use of your basic attacks and any items you could grab. The game feels like a direct, no-nonsense scrap where every hit has a solid weight to it.
