About Gully Cricket

Gully Cricket was one of those Flash games you'd find tucked away on a gaming site in the late 2000s. It captured a specific kind of street cricket, the informal version played in narrow lanes and open spaces, and brought it to a browser. The game didn't have official licenses or complex graphics, but it understood the spirit of the game many grew up with.

You control a single batter. The view is from behind, and your job is to face a bowler and hit the ball. You move with the mouse and swing by clicking. The main objective is simple: score runs and don't get out. You learn to time your shots, aiming the ball into gaps to run between the wickets. The bowling can be quick and unpredictable, with deliveries that swing or bounce awkwardly. The game moves fast, and a mistimed shot often sends the ball straight to a fielder. It feels immediate and a little frantic, a quick test of your reflexes more than a deep simulation.
