About Guitarman

Guitarman was one of those games you found on a Flash portal in the mid-2000s. It had that simple, direct quality common to many games from that era, where the concept was everything. You were a guy on a flying guitar, and that was all the setup you needed.

You control the guitarist, who rides his instrument like a surfboard through a side-scrolling sky. The main goal is straightforward: survive. You use the mouse to move him up and down, dodging incoming projectiles that often look like musical notes or sound waves. Your primary attack is a stream of beats fired from the character's mouth, aimed by positioning the cursor. The mechanics are built around this constant rhythm of evasion and retaliation. The pacing is quick, demanding sharp reflexes as enemy patterns become more dense. It feels like a frantic, slightly absurd arcade challenge where your only tools are a guitar and a well-aimed shout.
