About Great House Escape
Great House Escape was one of those point and click games you'd find on a Flash portal in the late 2000s. It didn't have a complicated story or fancy graphics. You were just in a house, and the door was locked. The goal was straightforward, but getting there meant paying attention to everything.
You control a cursor, clicking on furniture, paintings, and odd corners of each room. The main objective is to find a series of keys and items that will eventually let you leave. You combine objects in your inventory, solve simple puzzles like aligning symbols or inputting codes found on scraps of paper, and navigate between a few different screens. The pacing is slow and methodical; it's not a race. The difficulty comes from the logic of the puzzles, which can feel obscure until a click reveals a hidden compartment. It feels like a quiet, persistent test of observation.
