About Flamingo Drive
Flamingo Drive was one of those games you'd find tucked away on a Flash portal in the late 2000s. It didn't have a big studio name attached to it, just a simple, quirky premise that felt typical for the era. You were there to play a round of golf, but the course and the rules were anything but ordinary.
You control a golfer, clicking and dragging to set the power and angle of your shot. The main goal is to get your ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible, navigating past obstacles like water hazards and, memorably, a yeti who would sometimes swat your ball away. The mechanics are straightforward: you adjust your shot trajectory, account for wind, and try to avoid the yeti's patrol area. The pacing is quick, with each hole presenting a small, self-contained puzzle. The difficulty comes from the unpredictable elements and the tight spaces you often have to land in. It feels like a silly, slightly chaotic test of your patience and your ability to improvise.
