About Dustbingate

Dustbingate was one of those odd little games you'd find in the later days of Flash. It came out in 2008, a point when the platform was full of experiments that didn't always fit into neat categories. The game had a simple, almost crude visual style that felt typical for the time, a product of someone working quickly with the tools they had.

You control a character, presumably a writer, who stands in an office. Your main job is to stop story pitches from reaching an editor at the other side of the screen. You do this by clicking on the writers who are generating these ideas, which seems to halt them. Other times, you interact directly with the documents themselves, perhaps dragging them to a trash bin. The mechanics are straightforward: point, click, and try to keep the flow of incoming paper under control. The pace picks up steadily, and it can get quite frantic as more writers appear. The whole thing feels like a silly, slightly stressful race against an ever-growing pile of paperwork.
